Antonis Georgiou (1969) works as a lawyer and is a postdoctoral student of theatrology. He also edits literary magazines and literary study magazines. He writes poetry, prose and drama; His plays have been presented on numerous stages in Cyprus. He has received numerous awards for his writing, including the State Prize for Novels and the EU Prize for Literature in 2016.

Overview

The polyphonic narrative depicts a wide range of Cypriot society and the fates of its individuals. It covers both rural and urban milieus and opens up themes such as war, refugees, migrants, and also universal stories about family, love and death. It is written in Cypriot Greek. Individual stories are intermittent and include newspaper articles, recipes, children’s drawings, poetry and family photographs.
